Nitrous is the most commonly used sedative used in Dentistry, due to its ease-of-use, fast-acting properties and safety. Once the gas is turned off the sedative effects typically wear off in a matter of minutes with no residual effects.

Side effects are extremely rare when using Nitrous Sedation. Some patients may experience temporary nausea, dizziness or fatigue but these side effects go away once the gas is turned off. We are constantly monitoring your awareness and oxygen levels throughout your treatment to avoid any of the side effects associated with excessive NOS inhalation.

As soon as we turn off the Nitrous Oxide gas, you should begin to feel the effects wearing off.
